Saturday August 28th Brownstown Speedway Hall of Fame Classic |
8/22/10 - Update Rains on Saturday morning forced cancellation of the 8/21 event at Brownstown Speedway. The team will be back in action this coming Saturday night (8/28) at Brownstown Speedway for the Hall of Fame Classic. 8/10/10 - Update The team struggled through the Fair race weekend at Brownstown Speedway. After a DNF in the Indiana Late Model Series event on 7/29 (wreck) the team failed to make the feature event for the 7/31 Grand Champion Fair Race. The troubles continued at Brownstown Speedway on 8/7 as the team fought a severely tight race car all night. Matt was forced to pull the #49 machine from competition in both the heat race and consolation race this past Saturday due to the ill-handling conditions. The silver lining is that the team identified the major problem with the car on Sunday during post-race inspections and is taking steps toward a complete recovery for the ILMS event on 8/21 at Brownstown Speedway. 7/19/10 - Update The team was in action this Saturday night (7/17) at Brownstown Speedway in competition with the Super Late Model division (almost twice the horsepower as the team’s crate motor). 34 cars were on the grounds in the Super Late Model division. After a mishap in turn one of his heat race, Matt rallied from the tail to a 5th place finish – missing the transfer to the feature by one position. In the consolation race, the #49 was planted on the bottom of the rough and tacky track. Matt took the lead briefly but the caution flew negating it. After a late race restart, Matt put the car back to the bottom and held on to 2nd and earned a spot in the feature event. In the feature, the bottom of the race track proved to be the ticket as the #49 machine pulled past several competitors and charged to a 12th place finish. The team will be back in action on 7/29 at Brownstown Speedway for the Indiana Late Model Series (crate late models) fair race at the Jackson County Fair. |
